As destination weddings become more and more aspired by many, top summer spots are also becoming top summer wedding spots. Here are a few destinations for you to consider.
With a year round tropical climate and a 100,000 square mile of paradise, the Bahamas is not surprising to see on the list. Just 50 miles off the coast of Florida, the Bahamas has 700 islands and 2500 cays to choose from. Even George Washington loved the place calling it the 'Isle of Perpetual June'.
Tagged as having the best beaches in the world, a wedding in Cayman Island will truly be unique and exciting. It is situated in the Western part of the Caribbean Sea and consists of three islands named namely Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. Divers would be thrilled to visit here for it is considered as the world's best scuba diving destination.
How about getting married on a cruise? It is a smart and wonderful choice made for couples planning to elope. Get married in an instant and begin your honeymoon right away inside the cruise ship. Some ships even have a chapel. You can also choose to state your marriage vows before the cruise or in one of the cruise stops.
Having the wedding in one of California wineries is another unique summer idea. The Napa Valley Wine Train is a three hour round trip rail and dining adventure starting from the town of Napa up to St. Helena. Other wine regions to choose from are the Paso Robles, Santa Barbara County and Sonoma County.
The state of Colorado is known for winter weddings but summer weddings are also popular in the area. Pike's Peak is an excellent choice. You can have it in Manitou Springs or on top of 14,100 foot Peak itself. Another spot is the Seven Fall down in Cheyenne Canon, which is referred to as the 'Grandest Mile of Scenery in Colorado'. The falls cascades into seven steps, thus the origin of its name, down into the solid cliff of granite. A wedding here can accommodate up to 150 persons. The only downside is that they do not host receptions and does not serve alcoholic drinks.
Vancouver Island is 'Canada's Paradise on the Pacific'. One of the outstanding locations in this wonderful city is the Sooke Harbour on Whiffen Spit Beach offering 180 degree view of the Pacific Ocean. Wine connoisseurs would be happy to know that Sooke Harbour garnered the coveted Wine Spectator Grand Award for 2006 having Canada's five best wines in its list. Aside from that, Vancouver is also known for its lush rainforest, beaches, rocky shorelines and vistas. Add to that the well know British city of Victoria with its teas, double-decker buses and horse drawn carriers.
