With gas prices increasing every day, individuals as well as families have had to greatly cut down on their spending as far as gas is concerned. In order to consume less gas, they have also had to reduce road trips which means they cannot travel far. However, even with the high fuel prices individuals do not have to experience bland vacations. It is possible to have the vacation of a lifetime even on a single tank of gas. On just one tank of gas, individuals may visit and explore wonderful destinations closer to home, within Los Angeles, that are often sidelined.
Compared to other cities, Los Angeles has a lot to offer. An interesting place to visit on just a single tank of gas is the Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park. The park conveniently borrows its name from Tiburcio Vasquez a villain who used the rocks as a hiding ground. The park has a landscape that is alien like making it an ideal location to visit with your children. Walking, horse riding and hiking are some of the activities that individuals may engage in. The benches and tables provided in the park as well as the rock caves may be used for picnics. Individuals and families may marvel at miniature horses at the Quicksilver Horse Ranch.
Individuals keen on soaking up the sand may drive to the Carpinteria State Beach which is located in the Santa Barbara area. The beach is an ideal location to visit on weekends for sunbathing as well as pick nicking purposes. A trip to the beach consumes under a tank of gas. Individuals wishing for some sea food may visit the Neptune Nest. Here, in addition to fried, raw or even steamed sea food, individuals can also enjoy hot dogs and cheeseburgers. Individuals hoping for something more exotic may make a stop over at Ostrich Land. At the venue low fat ostrich meat and eggs are served.
By driving to such locations as Mosby, Lafond, Alma Rosa and Cassara, individuals may visit vineyards and participate in wine tasting sessions. However, the Los Olivios Wine Merchant and Café is by far the most popular wine destination. Unlike other wine destination Los Olivos does not provide wine tasting rooms. However, the wine produced in this area, Sea Smoke Pinot Noir, also known as cult wine, is one of the most sought after. It is advisable to purchase a bottle of this fine wine during a stop over at the Los Olivos.
Another interesting destination is the Kimberley Crest House and Redlands. This particular destination is for individuals that love frequenting historical places and venues. The house which dates back to the early 20thcentury is surrounded by beautiful Italian gardens. The house is peaceful and serene with lots of fresh away making it ideal for the individual who just wants to get away from the busy and hurried life in the city. Another historical destination within Los Angeles that can be accessed on one tank of gas is La Purisma Mission. The mission was founded in 1787. Guides are provided to individuals wishing to explore the mission.
